So this weekend should have been filled with tons of good food, among other things, as we celebrated Noah and Leigha’s wedding. The festivities are one of the many pandemic casualties, although happily they have simply been postponed rather than cancelled. And as much as I would have loved to have everyone spending the weekend together in Madison, Wisconsin, where Noah and Leigha live and where they were planning to wed, I am grateful that a postponed wedding is the worst of what we have personally experienced at a time when so many lives have been lost.
And now that it looks like this new normal is going to be a longtime thing, and we must all adjust to mask wearing and social distancing, among other things, for the foreseeable future, Noah and I have decided to make a slight tweak to the blog as well. We are going to switch from publishing 5 days per week to 3 days per week. I will post on Mondays and Fridays moving forward and Noah has Wednesdays covered.
We hope you are enjoying our food musings and recipes. We have found that good food – and the time to make it and eat it together – is a true silver lining of these crazy times. We feel so fortunate that we are able to make yummy food and enjoy it with folks who appreciate it as well. It is a luxury that we do not take for granted and we are so happy to be able to share it with all of you. When all else seems pretty shaky and unsettled, there is still the aroma of fresh bread to ground you and let you know all will be okay.
The picture of Noah and Leigha speaks volumes! I am so happy for them both that they are so in love!
And I applaud their selflessness in postponing their joyous union for the sake of their family and friends health.
I am currently in a quandary regarding whether to cancel attending my first granddaughter’s wedding in Turks & Caicos in late October. I hope that she, too, can put the safety of others ahead of her own passion.
Good news is always welcome, and it is wonderful that this nasty pandemic has only created a minor delay in happy plans. Meanwhile, tune into my artsy blog for news of our coming Thursday celebration, Yep, July 2, 1955, we were married, and, guess what, 65 years later we are still happily married. See a piece of that at https://observedart.blogspot.com
Great post and love all the pics!
So glad you are still going to post. I am planning to attempt to make sourdough bread because of you.
Yay! So glad you are enjoying the blog!
I am looking forward to celebrate Noah and Leigha‘s almost 1-year wedding anniversary next May. Wonderful to see them so happy and in love!
